New Constructions in Darien, CT

After the 2020 pandemic, several new construction projects that had started or had been approved in the years before, including the downtown redevelopment, suffered a setback. In 2022 many more new developments began to see progress again.

A project that has gotten a lot of buzz since it was approved in 2017, The Corbin District, is near completion and already has made a great impact. It is a huge project meant to transform the downtown, which includes 11 new buildings, mixed-use, residential, and retail, as well as a seven-acre "Village Green".

The new construction at the Darien Commons project in downtown Noroton Heights is now complete and many retail tenants are expected to open before 2024. Darien Commons has 122 apartments. Apartments for lease will have a range of sizes from studios to two-bedroom homes with secure, underground parking.

A new development in the Noroton Heights area of town, "The Heights" will include 65 luxury residential rental apartments, with 15% affordable units, a Goddard School, two full-service restaurants, two casual restaurants, and two other retail storefronts

Besides these large developments, there are many newly built single-family homes in Darien, including several homes on 2.2 and 2.8-acre lots with a pool site within a top private association at Inwood Rd. There are also gorgeous newly built mansions on Pratt Is and Long Neck Point and you can also find several medium-priced to affordable classic or modern new homes.
