New Constructions in Bethel, CT

With an increase in population, surpassing all the nearby towns in the Danbury area, and also with a significant increase in under 18 years older residents over the past few years, Bethel has had many new construction homes each year, as well as new relatively large developments every few years.

No less than 450 new housing units have been built between 2010 and 2017 and nearly 200 homes between 2018 and 2023.

There are currently several new developments planned or under construction. In the downtown area, a new construction project located on South Street will include a new 12-apartment building and the conversion of a single-family house into a four-unit apartment building.

Another new 12-apartment building project has been proposed in July 2023. The development plan envisions a 2-story building on Nashville Road.

A 42 one-bedroom unit building has been proposed on Whitney Road. The development was rejected twice, but the site owners have filed a second appeal against the Planning and Zoning Commission in July 2023 and they hope it will be approved, saying the project meets all requirements.
