I don't think so!!
I read this great article Do Medications Really Expire? by Richard Altschuler and wanted to share. I always believed that the expiration dates meant nothing but am thrilled to see I was right! Expiration dates have been required by law since 1979 and are there to guarantee full potency and safety of the drug - not if the drug is "good" anymore.
Studies have showed that the potency of the drugs changes very little over time. Many medical authorities state that it is safe to take pills for years after the expiration date on the pill bottle, with few exceptions. Companies who manufacture medications benefit from these expiration dates, they sell more bottles of pills and often repackage their products.
